ERIC LOSH is a freelance illustrator and commercial art director, pushing paint and pixels from New York City to the Hudson Valley. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design from West Virginia University and an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. His work ranges from children's books and wildlife illustrations to logos, branding and social media content for nonprofit and commercial clients.
Eric is driven by his mission to educate and inspire audiences about wildlife and wild places, fueled by nature experiences in his backyard and beyond—from Central Park to Central America, Uganda, Vietnam and more. In addition to jungles and forests, Eric's favorite environment is the classroom, where he relishes opportunities to share his books and work directly with children to instill a love for nature and art.
He is most inspired by wildlife conservation, ecosystems and biophonics, and lives with his wife Meghan in New York’s Hudson Valley. While not working, Eric can be found playing the banjo, birdwatching in his backyard, or tending to a jungle of houseplants.
